Abstract
This paper introduces analysis on cracks in hexagon socket head bolts of ML35(B) cold heading steel wire rod which is made in Hangzhou Iron Steel Group Company. After a series of test and analysis, the conclusion has been drawn that cracks on hexagon socket head bolts result from segregation lines in metal organization, and the segregation lines result from cracks near edge angles of billet. If measures are taken to improve billet quality, this kind of defects can be eliminated effectively.
