Abstract
[Objective]In order to understand the impact of different sodium salts on ornamental grass germination and seedling growth. [Method]Pennisetum alopecuroides was chosen as the object, with orthogonal block experiments of three-factor( NaCl,Na2SO4and NaHCO3). The impact of sodium salts on germination and growth was compared through the determination of germination and biochemical properties. [Result]Germination rate decreased subsequently with the increase of NaCl and NaHCO3concentration. NaHCO3had the greatest impact. But seedling morphology and biochemical indices were impacted largest by NaCl. The seedling growth was inhibited subsequently by NaCl. [Conclusion]The inhibition of NaCl was larger on seedlings growth than germination. And NaHCO3significantly repressed germination. The research could provide scientific basis for ornamental grass introduction in saline- alkali areas.
