Analysis on the Basic Situation of Rice Variety Certified by Hubei Province

Breeding units,parent materials,quantity,yield,excellent quality rate and disease resistance of 153 rice varieties certified by Hubei committee for examination and approval of crop varieties from 2001 to 2010 were analyzed.The results showed that provincial and prefecture academies of agricultural sciences and institution of higher learning were the main breeding units.JIN23A,II-32A,and HD9802S were the most used parent materials.In terms of the types of rice varieties,the number of two-line indica hybrid varieties showed a rising trend like waves,while the number of conventional indica varieties and japonica varieties decreased gradually.The annual average yield of varieties increased steadily,and the yield gap between conventional and hybrid varieties reduced gradually.The rice qualitative average ratio was 67.3%.The resistance to bacterial blight abated,and the resistance to rice blast declined greatly.
