Analysis on Yield of the Approved Early Rice Varieties in Jiangxi Province from 2003 to 2011

The yield of the approved early rice varieties in Jiangxi Province from 2003 to 2011 were analysised in the paper. The results indicated that the yield of the early rice varieties tend to increase annually, the average yield was 6.98 t/hm2, ranged from 6.04 t/hm2to 7.70 t/hm2. The average yield of hybrid early rice combinations was apparently higher than conventional early rice varieties. The average yield of the late-maturing early rice was higher than that of early-medium maturing rice and good-quality early rice. The high yield varieties were only 24, with an average yield of 7.09 t/hm2. The growth period and plant height of early rice were positively correlated to the yield in a certain range.
