The Evaluation of OMOM Capsule Endoscopies in Diagnosis of Gastrointestinal Disease in Old Patients

Objective: Discussion OMOM capsule endoscopy in elderly patients with digestive tract disease diagnosis.Methods: Retrospective analysis OMOM capsule endoscopy of the 129 old patients.Results: One hundred and twenty-nine were referred to this study and 118 of them complete the inspection.Among the 118 patients in the study for statistical analysis,103(87.3%) obtained positive finding,including esophageal diseases in 3(2.9%),gastric diseases in 38(36.9%),small bowel diseases in 92(89.3%),colon diseases in 7 case(6.8%).A total of 91 patients with gastrointestinal bleeding and 25 patients with abdominal pain or diarrhea obtained positive finding,in which one small bowel diseases in 75(82.4%) and another one in 17(68%).Conclusion: OMOM capsule endoscopy examination security,elderly patients with digestive diseases have better diagnostic value.
