Abstract
The blasting technique before the working face of the longwall caving in a hard thick coal seam is systematically studied by employing the blasting experiments, fractal theory,3-DFLAC numerical simulation and the analogy with the other blasting engineering. The feasible blasting project and parameters are proposed in detail. The recovery rate of top-coal is increased by 25.77% when the pre-blasting technique is used.In the same time, the distributions of the particle sizes of the top-coal before and after blasting are analyzed based on the topology.
