Abstract
Objective Study on morphology of the maxillary third molar, to provide reference date for the clinical application. Methods The dental cusps and roots of 112 maxillary third molars were observed and recorded, the shape of teeth were measured, then all the datas were analyzed by SPSS16.0 software. Results ①56.25% of the maxillary third molar had three cusps, and then 72.32%of the morphology of root were merged root ② The whole length of the maxillary third molars was17.23mm,the root was longer than the crown, the buccopalatal dimension was greater than the mesiodistal. Conclusion The anatomical shape of maxillary third molar still follow regularity, but Individual has larger differences.
