Abstract

Objective To investigate the relationship between the plasma level of brain natriuretic peptide(BNP) and disease severity in patients with acute myocardial infarction without ST-segment elevation(NSTEMI).Methods Eighty-one patients were divided into high BNP group(BNP≥150 pg/ml) and low BNP group(BNP150 pg/ml).All patients received coronary arteriography by Judking method, and were divided into normal group, angina groups A,B1,B2,and C.Results Compared with low BNP group, high BNP group had more patiens with type B and C angina[39(48.15%),16(19.8%),P0.05].Conclusions High plasma BNP in patients with NSTEMI is closely related to coronary heart disease severity.BNP is an important index to judge coronary heart disease severity in patients with NSTEMI.
