The Survey of Elementary and Middle School Teachers' Mental Health Status in Rural Areas

Abstract

This paper is to explore the elementary and middle school teachers' mental health status in rural areas.It uses the method of Stratified Sampling(SCL-90) to investigate 225 middle and primary school teachers in Pingdingshan.Results: 1)The mental health level of the primary and middle school teachers is below that of the normal populations in China,and the mental health problem makes up 24.3% of the whole.2) The mental health status of the primary school teachers are a bit higher than that of the middle school teachers.3) There are significant differences in their mental health in terms of sex、age and course teaching.Conclusions:The primary and middle school teachers' mental health problems in rural areas are more serious.
