Abstract
Objective: To explore the changes of corneal endothelium after the treatment of posterior capsular opacification by using the Nd:YAG laser. Methods: Under the corneal endothelium microscopy, the corneal endothelium of the eyes subject to the treatment of posterior capsular opacification by using the Nd:YAG laser was observed. Results: There was no significant correlation between pre- and postoperative central and 6 o'clock periphery of corneal endothelium in 7 and 14 days. Before and after the laser therapy, between the central and 6 o'clock periphery of corneal endothelium, there was no statistically significant difference. Conclusion: The treatment of posterior capsular opacification by using the Nd:YAG laser with the energy 2.6-3.2 mJ can not damage the corneal endothelium significantly.
