Abstract
An octadecyl acrylate/maleic anhydride/styrene(AAMAS) copolymer as pour point depressant/viscosity reducer for a praffinic crude oil of shengli is synthesized through organic solution copolymerization. The proper ratio of monomers, initiator use level, and reaction time are found to obtain copolymers with highest pour point depressing and viscosity reducing capacities. The waxing inhibition and pour point and viscosity reduction by using the copolymer obtained for the crude are conducted. It is shown that the pour point of the Shengli crude is lowered by 15℃ and its apparent viscosity at 20℃—by 88% when 300 ppm copolymer AAMAS is added at 60℃.
