Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of leflunomide for rheumatoid arthritis. METHODS: A total of 120 patients with rheumatoid arthritis were randomly divided into two groups of 60 each: the intervention group was treated with leflunomide and the control group was treated with methotrexate. The clinical effect and adverse reactions in the two groups were followed and compared. RESULTS: The intervention group showed better efficacy than in the control group,and the differences were significant (P 0. 05). CONCLUSION: Leflunomide has been shown to improve patients’condition with good clinical efficacy and safety,and it is thus an active drug for rheumatoid arthritis.
