Clinical Observation on the Acupuncture-predominant Treatment for Cervical Spondylosis of Vertebral Artery Type

Abstract

Objective To observe the effect of acupuncture-predominant treatment for cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type.Methods A hundred and twelve patients with cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type were randomized into a treatment group and a control group,56 in each.The treatment group received acupuncture plus rehabilitation training,and the control group was treated with acupuncture only.The therapeutic effects were compared between the two groups afterwards.Result The recovery rate and total effective rate were respectively 57.2% and 96.4% in the treatment group,and 37.5% and 83.9% in the control group.The differences between the two groups were significant(P0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture is an effective method for treating cervical spondylosis of vertebral artery type.
