Abstract
Objective To provide the microanatomy of sellar region for the clinical neurosurgery. Method Mieroanalomir structures were observed and measured in 30 cadaveric adult heads and 30 dry skulls. Results (1)Tuberculum sellae, anterior and posterior clinoid process, optic canal, sellar floor, optic canal prominence and ICA prominence are important bom landmarks in the sellar region; (2)The relative dural structures include diaphragma seilae, cavernous sinus and intercavernous sinus; (3)The relative cisterns are carotid cistern and optic chiasm cistern; (4)The pituitary gland and stalk, optic nerve and chiasm, circle of Willis and its branches are important nerve and vascular structures. Conclusion The microanatomy of the sellar region is of great value to the surgery of this region.
