Status of health knowledge awareness and the influencing factors of the rural residents in 11 countries of Anhui and Xinjiang province

Objective To know about the health knowledge level and the influencing factors of the rural residents in 11 counfries of Anhui and Xinjiang province,in order to take effective health education measures.Methods Multistage sampling was used to select rural residents aged 15-69 years and face to face interview was carried out.SPSS version 15.0 software was used to carry on the statistical analysis.Linear regression and correspondence analysis were used to analyze the data.Results In the project counties,the average score of the health knowledge was 21.5.10.9% subjects got the score above 50.Area,education level and marriage status were the influencing factors on the score of the health knowledge(P0.05).Broadcast,TV and video were the main approaches to get the health knowledge,accounting for 49.1%.60.7% rural residents only had one approaches to get the health knowledge.The higher the rural residence had educational level,the more they had approaches to get knowledge.Conclusion The health knowledge of the rural residents in Anhui and Xinjiang provinces is scarce and the pertinent health education should be carried out in these areas.
