Abstract

Objective To observe the changes in liver functions of rats at early stage of bilary obstruction and to a chieve therapeutic basis for it. Methods Biliary obstruction animal models were made on Wistar rats by ligating common bile duct.Liver function tests, such as serum total bilirubin(TBIL),direct reacting bilirubin(DBIL),δ bilirubin(δ BIL),total bile acid(TBA), alanine transaminase(ALT), alkaline phosphatase(ALP),γ glutamyl transpeptidase (GGT), were determined before and after the obstruction at the 0.5,1 and 2 hours. Results The levels of serum ALT ,TBA,GGT,TBIL,DBIL and δ BIL were increased significantly( P 0 01) 0.5 hour after the biliary obstruction ,and the increase was correlated with the duration of the obstruction, the longer, the higher ( P 0 05).ALP level was elevated only 2 hours after the operation. Conclusions Liver functions changed only half an hour after acute biliary obstruction, indicating that liver got damaged at early stage of the biliary obstruction.
