Prevention and cure action of Hugan Jiedu Chongji on experimental liver fibrosis

Abstract

Objective It is to observe the anti-liver-fibrosis action of Hugan Jiedu Chongji(HGCJ) in rats.Methods The male SD rats were randomly divided into normal control group,model group,HGCJ large dosage group and HGCJ small dosage groups.Liver fibrosis models of rats were made with CCl_4 in all groups except normal control group.From the second month after the models made HGCJ large and small dosage groups were respectively given 44 g/(kg·d) and 11 g/(kg·d) of HGCJ by intragastric administration,normal control group and model group were given the same volume of normal sodium by intragastric administration.The rats were killed when the experiment lasted for three months,and blood was taken for measuring ALT,AST,TP,ALB,A/G,HA and liver tissue was taken for pathology examination.Results The levels of ALT, AST and HA in HGCJ large and small dosage groups lowered obviously and the levels of TP,ALB and A/G rose.Compared with model group,the difference was significant(P0.01).Pathology examination showed that liver cell denaturation lightened obviously and fibrous tissue proliferation decreased in HGCJ large and small dosage groups.Conclusion HGCJ has obvious prevention and cure action on liver fibrosis in rats induced by CCl_4.
