Study on variation of immune status in patients with chronic hepatitis B

OBJECTIVE To investigate the variation of immune status in patients with chronic hepatitis B.METHODS The medical records of diagnosis and treatment of 84 patients with chronic hepatitis B admitted in our hospital from Jan 2007 to Mar 2008 were retrospectively analyzed.After treatment with interferon,HBV-BNA of 33/84 patients became negative.These patients were set as the observation group.The other 51 patients were set as the control group.The levels of CD3+ T,CD4+ T,CD8+T,HLA-DR,CD18,CD83 and CD86 of the patients before and after the treatment in the two groups were compared with those of healthy people in the same period.The variation of the immune status of patients with chronic hepatitis B was summarized.RESULTS The concentration of CD4+ T of the two groups of patients before treatment was significantly lower than healthy individual,while CD8+ T was significantly higher than that in healthy people.The levels of HLA-DR,CD18,CD83,CD86 were significantly lower than healthy people.The differences were statistically significant(all P0.05).The peripheral blood CD4+ T,CD8+ T,HLA-DR,CD18,CD83,CD86 of the observation group returned to normal after treatment,while the control group remained unrecovered.CONCLUSION T cells and dendritic cells(DC) play important roles in the outcome of patients with chronic hepatitis B.
