STUDY ON THE OIL-GAS RESOURCES IN THE EASTERN BASINS ON THE NORTH MARGIN OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA

It has been proved that there are abundant oil gas resources in the Zhujiang River(Pearl River) Mouth basin and the Southwest Taiwan basin in the east of the north margin of the South China Sea. Based on the data of regional tectonic enviroment, development and distribution of these basins, basic oil gas geological conditions of Meso Cenozoic strata as well as the distribution of oil gas bearing structures, oil gas fields and oil gas wells in the study area, the characteristics of the Meso Cenozoic oil gas resources have been synthetically analyzed. It has been referred that the oil gas resources of Meso Cenozoic strata in the study area should be divided into 3 types,that is,oil gas rich area, potential oil gas area and prospective oil gas area according to the oil gas potentials.Moreover, 4 oil gas rich belts, potential oil gas belts and 8 prospective oil gas belts have been put forward in this paper. In a word, this paper expressed the distribution of oil gas resources and their geological characteristics and provided detailed information for commercial exploitation and theoretical study in this area.
