Abstract

The influence of acid dye on dyeing properties of wool fabric modified with protease/transglutaminase was studied.By taking the changes in wettability of wool fabric into account, the reason for transglutaminase effects on dyeing properties of the modified wool fabric was investigated. The results showed that the treatment of transglutaminase could improve the dyeing properties. And the initial exhaustion and K/S value increased with the increase of transglutaminase concentration, which was closely relative to the fact that transglutaminase could improve the wettability performance of wool fabric. When wool fabric was treated by protease and then treated with 32%(owf) of transglutaminase, the wettabiltty could be distinctly improved.
