Abstract

Objective To study pathogenic correlation between insulin resistance and hyperlipemia in the cerebral infarction. Methods The fasting plasma total cholesteral(TC),triglyceride(TG),high density lipoprotein(HDL-L),low density lipoprotein(LDC-C),glucose and nsulin were measured in 96 patients with cerebral infarction and 48 normal controls.Insulin sensitivity was calculated from fasting plasma gluscose(FPG)and insulin(FINS)with the formula insulin sensitivity index(ISI)=log1/(FPG×FINS).Results Insulin sensitivity of 96 patients with cerebral infarction only was 80%,while that of 48 normal controls was 100% (P0.01).It was verified that generally existed insulin resistance in the patients diagnosed as cerebral infarction. The determined result showed that plasma TC,TG and LDL-C levels were significantly higher in the patient group than that those in the control group(P0.01),regardless of the infaretion type was atherosclevosis infarct or lacunar infarct, as well as the patients had complicants such as hypertension and diabetes mellitus or not. Conclusion There is compactly correlation between sick rate of cerebral infarction and insulin resistance, hyperlipemia .
