Clinical observation of Fangfeng Tongsheng pill combined with tiopronin in the treatment of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease

AIM To observe the recent clinical curative effect of the combination of Fangfeng Tongsheng pill and tiopronin in the treatment of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.METHODS Seventy-two patients suffering from nonalcoholic fatty liver disease were randomly and evenly divided into 2 groups control group and observation group,with 36 patients of each group.In the control group,patients were given intravenous injection of tiopronin and vitamin B orally.In the observation group,patients were given intravenous injection of tiopronin and Fangfeng Tongsheng pills orally.Both groups were taken the medicines continuously for 4 weeks.Observations were made on curative effects,symptoms before and after treatments,and the changes of physical signs,liver function,blood fat and B-type ultrasonic inspection of fat deposit in liver of the 2 groups.RESULTS In the control group the efficacy rate was 27.8%and the total effective rate was 72.2%.In the observation group the efficacy rate was 55.6%and the total effective rate was 91.7%.The curative effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P0.05).Compared with the control group, the observation group in reducing enzyme and blood fat,improving B-type ultrasonic inspection of fat deposit in liver and improvement of symptoms and physical signs were evident(P0.05 or P0.01).CONCLUSION The combination of Fangfeng Tongsheng pill and tiopronin has an obvious curative effect in treating nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.The effect is much better than that treated by using tiopronin only.
