Abstract
Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of meropenem in the treatment of neonatal severe respiratory tract infection compared with imipenem/cilastatin. Methods: 66 cases divided randomly into the experimental group and the control group were given meropenem and imipenem/cilastatin, respectively. Results: The overall clinical effective rate of the experimental group was 81.82% and the control group was 78.79%. The bacterial clearance rate of the experimental group was 88.46% and the control group was 85.71%. The occurrence of adverse reaction of the experimental group was 3.03% and the control group was 6.06%. There was no significant differences between the two groups(P 0.05). Conclusion: Meropenem is an effective and safe antibiotic for the treatment of neonatal severe respiratory tract infection as well as imipenem/cilastatin.
