Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical effects of transcatheter arterial thermo-lipiodol embolization in treatment of liver metastatic carcinoma. Methods 126 cases of liver metastatic carcinoma patients were divided into two groups,63 cases treated with transcatheter arterial thermo-lipiodol embolization were classified as heating group;63 cases treated with transcatheter arterial normal temperature of lipiodol embolization were classified as normal group. And to analyze the tumor size and change of liver function comparative before and after the treatment. Results The effective rate of heating group and normal group was 61.90%(39/63) and 47.62%(30/63) respectively. The difference between the two groups showed statistical significance(P0.05).The difference of postoperative tumor size changes between two groups showed statistical significance, but liver function changes were not.In heating group, the survival rate of 6,12,18 and 24 months were 100%(63/63),84.13%(52/63),49.21%(31/63) and 25.40%(16/63),respectively;in normal group, the survival rate were 90.48%(57/63),63.49%(42/63),34.92%(22/63) and 12.70(8/63),respectively.To compare the incidence of postoperative nausea and the pain of liver area of the two groups,it had statistically significant differences. Conclusion The effect of transcatheter arterial thermo-lipiodol embolization in treatment of liver metastatic carcinoma was better than the normal group, and the incidence of untoward effect was low.
