The Application of 64-Slice Volume CT Urography in the Diagnosis of Renal Pelvis and Ureteral Duplication

Objective To explore the imaging features and the clinical application value of 64-slice volume CT Urography(VCTU)in the diagnosis of duplication of renal pelvis and ureter.Materials and Methods Twenty-seven cases of renal pelvis and ureteral duplication performed 64-slice volume CT Urography examination.All the data were reconstructed with volume rendering,maximum intensity projection,multiplanar reconstruction and curve planar reconstruction.Resu-lts A total of 31 duplication of renal pelvis and ureter in 27 cases were diagnosed with VCTU,among of them 23 cases were unilateral,4 cases were bilateral.The VCTU images could not only display malformation of the renal and ureter duplication,such as the confluens location,urinary calculi,hydrops in the renal and ureter,but also evaluate the renal function.Conclusion The VCTU images has strong ability of the diagnosis of duplication of renal pelvis and ureter with high sensitivity and specificity,which which can provide more clinical information for clinician.
