Lower eyelid blepharoplasty along with epicanthoplasty

Objective To explore the technique of performing lower eyelid blepharoplasty and epicanthoplasty simultaneously to make the epicanthoplasty scar hidden in the incision line of blepharoplasty.Methods From january 2005 to december 2008,we performed operations on 42 cases of patients.After designing transverse incision line of the epicanthic flap which was level to the incision of lower eyelid,we cut the medial canthus skin transversely to reach a new medial canthus point,incised the part of front angle of medial palpebral ligamentum longituninally and fixed the end point of front angle of medial palpebral ligamentum to nasal dorsum fassia firmly.Lower eyelid blepharoplasty was performed routinely.Results Satisfactory aesthetic results were obtained.Palpebral fissure was enlarged to 2 to 4mm with epicanthic scar hidden.Conclusion This is a single and effective procedure.Epicanthoplasty could be performed simultaneously.
