Abstract

Sericite is a kind of fine white mica, with only small deposit in our country. In Chuzhou, Anhui, there is a large quality sericite deposit. Based on mineralogical analysis of this ore, a concentrate with sericite over 96% is obtained by the process of sand removal and purification by classification-flotation, then a 800-1250 mesh sericite powders with a whiteness of 86% is produced by the further process of iron removal by bleaching-attrition by attritor. Test results show the products can be expected to apply to the industries such as rubber, engineering plastics and architectural coating.
