Abstract

Liberalism ignored the participation of the demos and reconstructed the classic democracy,which put liberal democracy into great crisis and made the democracy comedown during the 1970s.The modern Participatory Democracy criticized the trend of elitism and bureaucracy of liberal democracy,claimed the essence of democracy lies in the participation of citizens which is the classic signification of democracy.
