Abstract

Objective: To observe the influence of Huaxian decoction on the level of GSH-PX, SOD and MDA from the lung tissues in rats with blyomicin-induced pulmonary fibrosis.Methods: One hundred and forty-four healthy SD rats, weight from 180 to 240gram, were randomly divided into six groups(n=24, each): normal control group (group A), model group (group B), prednisone group (group C), Chinese drugs of high, moderate and low dosage (group D, E, F). The rat model was induced by blyomicin and respective medicine was given to each group. Every group was subdivided into three groups (n=8) which was killed in the 7th, 14th and 28th day respectively.Then,to check the level of GSH-PX, SOD, and MDA from the lung tissues in the rats.Results: Huaxian decoction could increase the activity of GSH-PX and SOD, and lower the contents of MDA from the lung tissues in the rats. Conclusion: Huaxian decoction can decrease harmful free radical and increase beneficial free radical scavenger in lung tissue, lesson the oxidative injury of pulmonary tissues caused by free radical in pulmonary fibrosis rats. That is probably the mechanism of Huaxian decoction protecting pulmonary tissues. In the same time ,it has dose-effect relationship in the change above.
