Abstract

There are 14.475 millions hm 2 desertification land in Qinghai, spreading by a speed of 0.013 million hm 2/a. For 40 years, full attentions have been paid to prevention and control of desertification. And several oasis have been set up in Shazhuyu, Xiangride, etc. In recent 10 years, ecological environment in some areas has been improved with carrying out the sand control project. But the general tendency of desertification is enlarging. A series of countermeasures and suggestions have been put forward in order to prevent and control desertification effectively.
