Relationship of c-erbB-2 gene product expression and the clinical significance

Objectives To study the relationship between the expression of c-erbB-2 and prognosis of breast cancer.Method54 of breast cancer were examined by immunohistochemistry technique(S-P method).Combining with the clinical information and ER、PR of the breast cancer were discussed.Result The positivity rate of c-erbB-2 expression in breast cancer were 55.6%,the positivity rate of c-erbB-2 expression in node-positive and in node-negative groups were 73.3% and 33.3% respectively(P 0.05). Conclusion The expression of c-erbB-2 is closely linked to lymphnode metastasis and prognosis of breast cancinoma and should be considered to a certain extent as index of malignant degree and prognosis.
