CLINICAL STUDY ON ADVANCED NON-SMALL CELL LUNG CANCER TREATED WITH TIAOFEI DECOCTION COMBINING WITH CHEMOTHERAPY

Objective:To observe the efficacy and safety of tiaofei decoction combining with chemotherapy in tne treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC) and the effect on VEGF expression.Methods:120 cases with NSCLC were divided into two groups,treated group was given tiaofei decoction combining with chemotherapy,control group was simply given chemotherapy,assessed the curative effect after two treatment courses,evaluated the quality of life,determined the changes of immunologic indexes and VEGF expression.Results:The total effective rate of treated group was 48.33%,the control was 35.00%,there was obvious difference between the two groups.The level of VEGF in the treated group was decreased significantly,there was difference between treated group and control,There were obvious differences between the two groups on the improvement of quality of life(KPS),immune indexes(NK cells activity and CD+3,CD+4,CD+8 and CD+4/CD+8),clinical benefit rate,median time to progression of disease,median survival time and survival rate of one year,the effects of treated group were better than those in control group.There were obvious difference between the two groups on these adverse effects,incidence of descending of hemoglobin,white blood cells and platelets,the incidence of treated group was less than those of the control.Conclusion:Tiaofei decoction could effectively treat advanced NSCLC,improve clinical symptoms and quality of life,raised immune function,prolonged survival time,decreased VEGF level and reduced adverse reaction.
