Abstract
Fatty acid-binding proteins(FABP) belong to a family of low-molecular-weight cytoplasmic protein, and adipocyte fatty acid binding protein(A-FABP/ aP2) is one of the members of the family.A-FABP binds saturated or unsaturated long-chain fatty acids reversiblely, facilitate trafficking and maintain metabolism equilibrium, regulate the production of lipid and lipolysis.Research in recent years shows that biological reaction of A-FABP plays an important role in lipid metabolism and various diseases. The relationship is especially close between A-FABP and metabolic syndrome, atherosclerosis.
A significance statement is not available in the OpenAlex record.
