EVALUATION ON ABILITY OF HEALTH EDUCATION AND HEALTH PROMOTION OF MEDICAL STAFF IN HAIDIAN DISTRICT

Objective To understand ability of health education and health promotion of medical staff,and to provide more health education services to patients.MethodsA questionnaire was conducted among the medical staff in six hospitals.Results82.1% of the medical staff considered that the health education in hospitals was carried out by all of them.78.1% of them thought the health education followed with the process of the diagnosis and treat. 67.5% of them provided 3-5 minutes' services of health education to outpatients .62.5% of them offered above 20 minutes’ health education to every inpatients. The major reasons that could not develop the hospital health education were lacking of time,propagandist materials and related knowledge. The awareness rate that the core of health promotion was social mobilization was 24.8%.ConclusionIt is important to carry out various,systematic and uniform health education,and to provide different education according to patients’ characteristics. It is necessary to improve medcal staff's training.
