A survey on KAP about health education of the doctors and nurses in grade III level hospitals in a city of Zhejiang Province

Objective To survey the knowledge,attitude and practice(KAP) about health education among the doctors and nurses in grade Ⅲ level hospitals in a city of Zhejiang Province,and to analyze the problems and factors about the health education in hospital,and to put forward some reasonable proposals. Methods A questionnaire on knowledge,attitude,practice about health education was conducted among 322 doctors and nurses who were sampled by stratified random sampling.The knowledge,attitude,practice on health education of them were surveyed with this questionnaire. Results There were differences among the cases with different education qualification and profession.92.8% of 322 surveyed cases thought that the health education played a very important role on implementation of health care.60.5% of them often told the patients the knowledge of preventing disease during health care,and 57.1% of them often intervened the patients' un-health behaviors,and 73.6% of them had been trained by hospitals or professional health-education organizations,and 94.1% of them were willing to receive specialized training in health education. Conclusion It is necessary to improve the training rate of health education for the medical staff and to raise their level of health education.
