Abstract
Objective To observe the effects of domestic clopidogrel (Talcom) and imported clopidogrel (Plavix) on platelet function in patients after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty and stent implantation (PCI). Methods A total of 450 coronary heart disease (CHD) patients were randomly divided into 2 groups including Talcom group (n=230) and Plavix group (n=220). In addition, 220 healthy subjects were chosen as healthy control group. Clopidogrel were prescribed to all CHD patients ever since 3 days before PCI. Venous blood samples were obtained before oral taking of clopidogrel, before PCI, 10 minutes after PCI and 7 days after continous intake of clopidogrel 75 mg per day. Platelet aggregation rate and platelet activation markers were compared between the 2 groups. Results The platelet aggregation rate and platelet activity in patients with CHD were significantly higher than those in healthy subjects. There were no significant differences in the platelet aggregation rate and platelet activity between Talcom group and Plavix group before treatment. The platelet aggregation rate and platelet activity elevated obviously after PCI compared with pre-operation level. No significant differences were observed between Talcom group and Plavix group after 7 days of clopidogrel treatment. Conclusion The platelet aggregation rate and platelet activity elevated after PCI. The antiplatelet effects of Talcom are similar to those of Plavix.
