A Cognitive Linguistic Approach to Spatial Metaphors in English

Abstract

Cognitive Linguistics holds that metaphor is a basic cognitive activity in humans’ daily life, and that spatial metaphor plays an important role in our cognition and many abstract concepts are constructed through spatial metaphor. In this paper, the detailed analysis of the features of spatial metaphor has been done to make some deep research on the study of spatial metaphor.
