Abstract
Since the 1970s,scholars have made various researches on code-switching from different angles.Campuses are natural places for the occurrence of code-switching.Turning from the social,psychological and morpho-syntactic studies,this article analyzes Chinese-English code-switching on campus in terms of field of discourse,tenor of discourse,and mode of discourse,i.e.three essential factors of M A K Halliday's register theory,so as to find a new reasonable explanation for the frequent occurrence of this complicated linguistic phenomenon.
