Abstract

Objective: To analyze the current situation and trend of equity allocation of general practitioners in Anhui province from2007 to 2012. Methods: The Lorenz curves and Gini coefficient were used to analyze the equity of population and geographical distribution of general practitioners from 2007 to 2012. The Theil index was used to evaluate the differences of interregional allocation. Results: The Gini coefficient dropped from 0. 425 to 0. 216 according to the population distribution, and the Gini coefficient dropped from 0. 501 to 0. 326 according to the geographical distribution. The total difference of Theil index dropped from 0. 214 2 to 0. 080 1.Conclusions: The currently existing allocation of general practitioners in Anhui province is reasonable; and the equity of population distribution is better than that of geographic distribution. The allocation shows a trend of improvement.
