Abstract
Flood insurance is an important non-structural measure to control flooding and an effective instrument of flood risk management.After discussing the flood insurance operating mode of the United States,this paper attempts to find the flood risk prevention measures and flood insurance system appropriate in the Chinese context through a comparative ana1ysis of the differences of basic national conditions between China and the United States and presents some policy recommendations
