Abstract
Objective: To investigate changes of insulin sensitivity index, serum lipid in coronary heart disease (CHD) with various degrees of coronary lesion and their significance.Method: On the basis of the degrees of coronary maximal stenoses and angiographic morphology of plaques, 29 patients with CHD were divided into two groups: 1) Severe lesion (SG, narrowing in luminal diameter ≥50% and type 2,3 of plaque morphology; 2) Mild lesion (MG, narrowing in luminal diameter 50% and type 1 of plaque morphology. Meanwhile, 16 healthy people (CG) were normal in coronary angiography. The fasting plasma glucose, postprandial 2h plasma glucose, fasting insulin, postprandial 2h insulin, insulin sensitivity index and serum lipid were determined. Results: The serum levels of fasting plasma glucose, postprandial 2h plasma glucose, fasting insulin, postprandial 2h insulin, insulin sensitivity index and serum llipid in CHD patients with diabetes were higher significantly than those in healthy controls (P0.05-0.01). Meanwhile, These parameters above in the severe lesion group were much higher than those in the mild lesion group. Conclusion: These parameters above may be of predictable value in differing CHD patients with significant coronary lesion from those with mild coronary lesio. There are ocviously the effects of insulin resistance on coronary lesion in coronary heart disease with diabetes.
