After finishing Historical Records,Sima Qian has repeatedly claimed recording the past and viewing the future,which indicates his purpose of writing history and his reflection on his history research.And these concise words contain profound thoughts.Historical Records offers us a source to observe Sima Qian's inheritance and transcendence of predecessors,understand the meaning of recording the past and viewing the future and grasp the ideological and academic value in Historical Records.
