Abstract
ObjectiveTo explore utilization status and rationality of antibiotic drug in general surgery during perioperative period.MethodsThe application of antibiotics in patients with general surgery during perioperative period in April 2004 and April 2006 was retrospectively analyzed and compared.ResultsIn 2004,antibiotics were used in all patients with general surgery, the average time of using antibiotics and hospitalization after operation was 6.68±2.88 days and 8.85±7.08 days, respectively, and for 2006,they were 3.94±3.20 days and 6.90±5.78 days, respectively. The average time of using antibiotics in 2006 was significantly decreased than that in 2004(t = 6.288,P = 0.000)and the average time of hospitalization in 2006 was also significantly decreased than that in 2004(t = 2.126,P = 0.035). No significant difference was found between the rate of using single antibiotic and the rate of combination of two kinds of antibiotics in the two years after operation(P﹥0.05). The rate of combination of 3 kinds of antibiotics significantly decreased in 2006 when compared with 2004(χ2 = 14.874,P = 0.000). In 2006 and 2004,the selection types of antibiotics were basically similar, but had the difference frequencies of usage.ConclusionImproper factors of usage of antibiotics existed during perioperative period, which should be avoided.
