Analysis on Reporting Data of 3,514 Death Cases in a General Hospital

Objective To explore the distribution of age,occupation,department and the causes of death cases,to find out the main factor of death and provide a basis for improving the quality of life and the level of hospital management. Methods The data about death cases were entered using the National Death Cause Reporting System,and then the death cases were analyzed according to the death cause code in International Classification of Diseases,10th edition(ICD-10). Results The constituent ratio of death cases with age older than 40 years was significantly increased.The death proportion of the workers of production and transport equipment operation and professional technical personnel was 54.7%.The death-case reporting proportion of emergency department and critical care medicine department was 67.7%.The death-case reporting proportion of circulatory system disease and malignant tumors was 70.5%. Conclusions It is necessary for the general hospital to strengthen the development of emergency department and critical care medicine department,pay more attention to the patients aged above 40 years and suffered from circulatory system disease or cancer,strengthen health education among the patients,and raise the level of diagnosis and treatment so as to decrease the mortality of the patients.
