Abstract
Objective To analyze the information of dead cases in Beijing Tongren Hospital from 2006 to 2010,and to provide scientific evidence for reasonable allocation of medical resources and targeted enhancement of hospital management.Methods According to International Classification of Diseases(ICD-10),the death cases and death causes reported by direct network reporting system of Beijing Tongren Hospital from 2006 to 2010 were retrospectively analyzed using Excel and SPSS software.Results The number of male death cases was higher than that of female death cases,and the ratio of male to female was 1.5:1.The main causes of death were cancer,cardiovascular disease and respiratory disease.The location of death was mainly at hospital wards(over 56%),followed by emergency department(over 33%).The number of death cases with loss of spouse showed an ascendant trend,while the number of death cases with spouse presented a declining trend.Conclusion The results suggest that hospitals and society should enhance the relevant work,and the main goal is not only to reduce the death which can be avoided,but also to improve the patients' quality of life.
