Abstract
Objective To investigate the abnormal blood stream in fetal umbilical artery and its relation with the prognosis of the fetus. Methods Ninety-nine cases with abnormal umbilical arteries were divided into six groups according to the S/D value. They were analyzed by pulse Doppler ultrasonic examination, and the fetal prognosis of different groups was compared. Results The causes of abnormal umbilical arteries were PIH(29.31%), IUGR(21.98%), umbilical factors (22.84%), etc. The higher the S/D ratio was, the worse the perinatal prognosis would be. Conclusion The S/D ratio can be used as an index to evaluate the fetal prognosis.
