Abstract

Objective:To compare and analysis the effect of tooth movement on alveolar bone under periodontitis and health status. Methods:Seventytwo Wistar rats were randomly divided into healthy and periodontitis tooth movement groups. We moved mesially the maxillary first molar of rats in each group,We measured alveolar bone density and height at predetermined time for statistical analysis. Results:After we moved Orthodontic tooth, alveolar bone density in periodontitis group is lower than that in healthy group. The difference was statistically significant, whereas no significant difference was found on alveolar bone height. Conclusion:Orthodontic treatment is proper for periodontal tissue only when the Inflammation is controlled.
