A Randomized Parallel Controlled Study on the use of Bo Zhiyun Abdominal Acupuncture Combined with Qijudihuang Decoction in Treating Liver and Kidney yin Deficiency Type Insomnia of Middle and Old Age Patients

[Objective]To observe the curative effect of Bo Zhiyun abdominal acupuncture combined with Qijudihuang Decoction in treating liver and kidney yin deficiency type insomnia of middle and old age patients.[Methods] Through the method of random parallel control,use 60 cases of outpatients arranged by registration order,allocat randomly them to 2 groups.The control group of 30 cases treated by modified Qijudihuang decoction(radix rehmanniae preparata 20g,cornel,Chinese yam 15g,tuckahoe 12g,cortex moutan 10g,medlar,chrysanthemum 15g,Ligustrum lucidum 20g,Eclipta alba,semen zizyphi spinosae,cortex albizziae 15g,prepared radix glycyrrhizae 10g),one dose a day,mixture of twice boiled medical liquids 500 mL,drink in the morning and in the afernoon.The treatment group of 30 cases used Bo Zhiyun abdominal acupuncture,The main acupoint(Chung wan,Xiawan,Qihai,Guanyuan,moxibustion on Shenque acupoint),supplementary acupoint,(Neiguan on both sides and Zusanli acupoint),Neiguan and Zusanli with uniform reinforcing-reducing method,Abdominal acupuncture with reinforcing method,three-step process,Acupuncture manipulation for 30 minutes;modified Qijudihuang Decoction used as the same as the control group.5 days for a course,and lasted for 5 courses,The distance was 2 days between successive courses.Observed the clinical symptoms,sleep and sleep time.Judged the curative effect after 5 courses of treatment.[Result]The treatment group 20 cases were cured,apparent effect 6 cases,Effective2 cases,Invalid 2cases,total efficiency was 93.33%.The control group 15 cases were cured,apparent effect 3 cases,9 cases were invalid,the total efficiency was 70%.The effect of the treatment group was better than that of the control group(P0.05).[Conclusion] To use the Bo Zhiyun abdominal acupuncture combined with Qijudihuang Decoction in treating liver and kidney yin deficiency type insomnia of middle and old age patients can achieve satisfactory result.
