Abstract

Objective To evaluate the role of matrix metalloproteinases(MMP-2,MMP-9) and its inhibitors(TIMP-1,TIMP-2),and CD 15 antigen in the invasion and metastasis of lung cancer. Methods The expression of MMP-2,MMP-9,TIMP-1,TIMP-2 and CD15 were detected in 47 lung cancer tissues by immunohistochemical method. Results The positive rates of MMP-2,TIMP-1 in adenocarcinoma were remarkably higher than those in squamous cell carcinoma(P0.01,(P0.05),)the positive rates of MMP-9 in squamous cell carcinoma were remarkably higher than those in adenocarcinoma((P0.01));The expression levels of MMP-9 in poor differentiated cancer were higher than those in well and medium differentiated cancer(P0.05);The positive rates of MMP-2,MMP-9,and CD15 were higher in tumors with lymph node metastasis than those without lymphatic metastasis(P0.01);The positive rates of TIMP-1 were higher in tumors without lymph node metastasis than those with lymphatic metastasis. Conclusion The expression of MMP-2,MMP-9,TIMP-1,and CD15 in lung cancer tissues might be a reference index in the malignant level and prognosis of lung cancer
