Body sizes of thirty cows and thirty bulls of F1 crossbred cattle of Simmental and Local Guanling yellow cattle were measured at birth,6 months old,12 months old,and 18 months old,respectively,and ten individuals of 18 months old were slaughtered and all slaughter parameters and beef flavor were degusted..F1 crossbred cattle of Simmental and Local Guanling yellow cattle grew faster than Guanling yellow cattle showed the characteristics of sire breed.Dressing percentage and net meat percentage of F1 crossbred cattle of Simmental and Local Guanling yellow cattle were higher than those of Local Guanling yellow cattle by 18.4% and 18.5%(P0.01),beef quality was also improved.which indicates that Simmental is a suitable sire breed to improve Local Guanling yellow cattle.
